How to replace the heater, located in the front?
The algorithm is simple:
To remove the front panel of the machine, you need to remove the two screws on it, pull the part backwards and put it aside.
- Then the detergent compartment is removed. To do this, unscrew the screws (there are two) and by pressing the latch on the back side, pulls out the part.
- It will be necessary to take out the seal on the loading tank. To do this, you need to remove the metal hoop by stretching the spring.
- It's time to take care of the front cover. It is attached with screws and probably additionally held by clips, so pull it forward and down.
- Time to deal with the wires on the door lock. You can disconnect them without any difficulty.
- Moving on to the heating element, located at the bottom of the tank. First, remove the terminals, thermal sensor connectors and ground wire located on the end of the part. This is done to remove the temperature sensor.
- On the heater, you need to unscrew the fastening nut, and push the bolt inside.
- Rock it up and down slightly before pulling the part out.
- Cleaning work. It is necessary to remove all debris, powder and scale residues from the tank.
- Installation of the new heater is done in reverse order: connect the temperature sensor and put it in place with connection of all wires and tightening the nuts.
- Reassemble the machine.
The heater is replaced, it remains to be tested in operation.
How do I replace the heater on the back of the machine?
In washing machines Indesit, Whirlpool and some other models, the heating element is installed at the back, which allows you to effortlessly make an independent replacement of the part.
To do this, it is necessary:
- Disconnect the machine from the power supply and drain the water, first unhooking the hoses if necessary and shut off the water.
- At the back unscrew the screws and remove the cover, which can be of different sizes and shapes.
- The heating element is at the bottom of the tank. Disconnect all the wires you see. Usually there is a ground wire in the center, a phase and a zero on the edges, another wire from the temperature sensor and four contacts.
- You can get the heater out with a socket wrench 8 or 10. Unscrew the fastening nut (in the center), and the bolt is pressed inside.
Now, armed with a flat screwdriver, insert it between the heating element and the tank and press it out.
- Cleaning work is carried out: detergent residues, limescale, debris are removed.
- The new heating element is installed in place. But, first the temperature sensor is connected. And so that the part stands freely, you can lubricate the rubber band with soap or dishwashing detergent. It should sink completely into the tank.
