Every housewife knows how quickly kitchen towels get dirty and how difficult it is to wash them afterwards. As a rule, regular washing cannot cope with grease stains, berries and other products present in the kitchen in large quantities. In addition, most bleach and strong detergents are very allergic, which is now more and more often becoming relevant. In such cases, alternative methods of cleaning come to the rescue, such as: "Japanese" way of washing kitchen towels with mustard and oil, soaking with laundry soap, with baking soda, with salt and many others.
General Information
NOTE: To keep your towels looking good for longer, use natural cotton fabrics. Terry towels take longer to dry and bacteria can breed on them.
Let's take a closer look at recipes for laundering towels and any other laundry.

"Japanese" way of washing with vegetable oil has several options
1) With vegetable oil and mustard: in 20 liters of hot water dissolve two tablespoons of dry mustard, two tablespoons of sunflower oil and one tablespoon of vinegar. Soak dry towels or other laundry in the prepared solution for 12 hours. It is recommended to cover the laundry with a lid so that it cools more slowly.
Then the laundry should be rinsed at least 4 times, alternating between cold and hot water.
2) With bleach and powder: in a bucket of hot water dissolve two tablespoons of bleach, two tablespoons of sunflower oil, one cup of non-foaming washing powder. Dirty towels are dipped into this solution and soaked for 12 hours, also covered with a lid.
Important: use bleach, for colored or white fabric, suitable for your products.
Soaking is a great way to clean stubborn stains without boiling, and there are plenty of solution options
1) Laundry detergent and baking soda. For five liters of hot water, you will need five tablespoons of baking soda and the same amount of laundry detergent. The laundry must be soaked for 8 hours. Laundry detergent corrodes dirty stains, and baking soda will get rid of unpleasant odors.
2) A solution of salt is also good for difficult stains. The recipe is simple - one tablespoon of salt per liter of cool water. You can soak the laundry overnight, and then rinse thoroughly.
Note: do not boil kitchen towels in water with vegetable oils, because the fabric of the product is depleted and quickly falls into disrepair!
A very popular method is to soak in a solution containing chlorine such as Domestos, Belizna, etc. But this method will only work on white fabrics, not on colored fabrics.
4) Rub some laundry soap and make a soap solution from it, or just rub the towels heavily with it. Soak them in a weak, slightly pink solution of manganese solution overnight. Manganese is great for disinfecting things and getting rid of bad smells.
5) Mustard solution. Dilute mustard powder in boiling water in the proportion of 1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water. If you want to take out the gray color and bleach the towels, then the solution should be made more saturated, a packet of mustard per 5 liters of water. Everything should be thoroughly mixed and strained from lumps. You should soak the laundry for 2 to 12 hours, depending on the degree of soiling.
This is interesting: Mustard is not only a solvent for fatty acids, but also an excellent disinfectant.
6) Dishwashing detergents like Fae and leave to soak overnight, then wash as normal, pre-rinsing from the foam
7) Excellent solvents for stubborn stains are citric acid and hydrogen peroxide. You should prepare a solution using one of these remedies, and pour it over the stains for two to three hours. After that, soak for half an hour in laundry detergent and wash in the usual way.
Ammonia alcohol works well with difficult coffee stains. The solution is made 1:1, it is poured only on the stain and kept for about an hour. After that, soak for half an hour in the powder solution and wash.
Note: Use ammonia only in a well-ventilated room or outdoors!
If none of the above methods cope with dirt and stains, boiling will help. This is one of the earliest options for whitening laundry, used by our grandmothers.
Boiling laundry should be done in an enameled dish, not intended for food. Usually solutions with bleach or laundry detergent are used.
Also use a bar of grated laundry soap mixed with baking soda, in the proportion of half a bar for five tablespoons of baking soda.
With all the richness of the choice of washing methods, you will not choose the best until you try. Dare, and perhaps you will invent your own exclusive method!
